As Jesus entered Jerusalem, there was a great celebration as they were praising Him and crying out “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” They were expecting a conquering king that would save them from their oppressors. It was the same people who would cry out crucify Him just days later.
And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
Though Jesus was not a military leader, He would save the people from the greatest oppressor. He saved us from sin and the oppression of the evil one.
