Not Happy with Sin

Not Happy with Sin

If a person is born again they have the HOLY Spirit living in them. Rather they have been a Christian for one minute or 50 years.
“I am telling you the truth,” replied Jesus, “that no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. A person is born physically of human parents, but is born spiritually of the Spirit. John 3:5-6

The HOLY Spirit brings conviction of sin.
And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. John 16:8

The HOLY Spirit will use the Bible (Word of God) to bring conviction of sin.
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12

Logical Conclusion
Thus a person who is a baby Christian or a mature Christian and sins will know what they are doing is not right. The Holy Spirit will let them know and the Bible will let them know. If a person is truly born again, even if they are immature in the Lord and even if they do not read the Bible, the HOLY Spirit will make them feel uncomfortable when they do what the Bible calls sin.

Thus any person who claims to be a Christian and has no conviction of sin and actually ENJOYS sinning with no remorse, no sorrow is not truly born again. ENJOYS-takes pleasure in with not guilt or shame. Sin can be enjoyable and pleasurable to the flesh or we would not sin. Sin can at times be pleasurable to a Christian because we are both flesh and spirit. BUT if a person is born again, thus has the HOLY Spirit living in them, they may find pleasure in sin but they will conviction in regards to sinning.

Note: A born again Christian can at times find pleasure in a sin, and can feel conviction, and not repent. But they will still feel conviction. The question is when they are sinning do they repent. Do they have true sorrow or do they grieve and quench the HOLY Spirit? (It is a miserable life to be born again and continually walking in sin and feeling conviction.  God has something better than that-His grace to give us the ability to have victory over sin.)
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 2 Corinthians 7:9

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30

Do not quench the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for eye are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:12, 14

Struggling with Sin versus Turning Oneself Over to Sin
A born again Christian can at times struggle/battle with sin. Scripture makes it clear that as Christians we can be tempted and fall into sin. But we are not to turn ourselves over to sin. And a person who continues in ongoing, unrepentant sin is not born again and is going to hell.
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:8-10

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men
nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10

Are You Truly Born Again?
Are you truly born again? Are you for sure a Christian? It is important to know the answer to that question. If you think you are born again and you are not, you are going to hell. You need to make sure you have the Holy Spirit living in you (which is the guarantee that you are born again. )

  • If you are happy with sin and have no remorse about sinning, good chance you are not born again.
  • If you have blatant ongoing sin in your life and you do not want the sin to stop, good chance you are not born again.
  • if you think you can live a life of active, ongoing, unrepentant sinning and still go to heaven, good chance you are not born again.

Get right with God before it is too late. You are headed to hell where there is eternal damnation. You need a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
