Warning to Conservative Christians
The Rhetoric of the Far Conservative Right

Part Two-If You Are a Christian You Cannot Be a Democrat

The rhetoric of the Far Conservative Right, or even some in the Christian Conservative Right movement, insinuate individuals cannot be a Democrat and be a Christian. Or you cannot be a Christian and support anything that comes from the liberal side of politics. Political Party Affiliation Not a Litmus Test
What political party a person supports does not determine if a person is a Christian or not.
As Christians we need to identify ourselves not by who we vote for President, or our political affiliation, but by whom we know-Jesus Christ. If people knows us more by our political beliefs than by our relationship with Jesus Christ, there is a problem.Who we vote for, what political party we affiliate with, does not determine our salvation, or if we are born again. Our salvation is determined by our relationship with Jesus Christ. Is He our LORD and Savior, are we cleansed by the atoning blood of Christ. Who a person votes for President will not determine if they are going to heaven or not.

Biblical Principles Should Matter
If you are a Christian, Biblical principles found in the Bible should matter to you. If you are a Christian it should matter to you that much of the Democratic Platform is anti-God, anti-Bible, anti-Christianity. That should greatly trouble you as a Christian. At the same time if you are a Christian it should greatly trouble you that some of the rhetoric of the Far Conservative Right is unbiblical. Listen, you can be a Christian and not be a Republican and not be fond of President Trump. You can be a Christian and support Trump’s policies but have a total disdain for Trump as a person. You can be a Christian that is a Democrat and yet not support much of the Democratic Platform.

Warning
Do not be guilty of judging a person’s salvation based upon their political party affiliation. Again political party affiliation is not a litmus test to determine if a person is a Christian or not. There are multitudes of individuals who call themselves Republican that have no true relationship with Christ.
