Go Upstream and You Will be Unpopular 2

If you determine to Go Upstream (taking a stand on Biblical principles, doing the will of God, living a life that gives glory to God) you will be going against the flow of the extremes in the culture, in politics, and in Christianity. Those who take a stand against the extremes are exposing the misconceptions, hypocrisy, and at times. the dishonesty of the extremes. If you go upstream you will not fit in the box of the extremes. This, needless to say, will make you unpopular and a target of hatred. If you go upstream you will challenge the all or nothing mentality of the extremes. You will challenge the black and white thinking of the extremes. You will challenge the ‘we are better than’  mentality of the extremes. You will challenge the generalities of the extremes. You will challenge the hate your enemies mentality of the extremes. This needless to say, will make you unpopular and a target of hatred. You will be hated because you will not conform/line up with the extremes.

In our next blog article we will address some of the extremes.

Amos 5:10
They hate him who reproves in the gate, And they abhor him who speaks with integrity.

Mark 13:13
Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

John 15:18-19
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Matthew 5:10-12
“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. “Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

A great read. I’m going to read up on those passages. Its frightening to be an outkast but will also be rewarding if you stand ten toes down and believe in what your standing for and that is for jesus christ.

Yes, it can be frightening to think about being an outcast, but all of us are outcasts in some way. I’d rather be an outcast for Jesus than outcast for not doing the will of God. More frightening than what man thinks is what God thinks. I want to be a good soldier for Jesus.
