What is Your Jerusalem?

our jerusalemWhat is Your Jerusalem?

Acts 1:4-5,8
4  Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before.
5  John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
8  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

It is very clear that the gift promised by the Father was for the believers (us) to be baptized with the Holy Spirit. It is very clear that those baptized with the Holy Spirit will receive power. It is very clear that those who are baptized with the Holy Spirit will receive power and be witnesses. It is very clear that those who are baptized with the Holy Spirit, that receive power, should testify about Jesus and it should start in their hometown-their Jerusalem. From there, go to other communities, and support missionary work.

If you are a Christ Follower and you are not doing your part to reach out to your Jerusalem, you have to ask yourself are you baptized with the Holy Spirit. You may be born again, but if you do not have a heart for the Gospel to be shared in your Jerusalem, you should ask God to fill you up with His Holy Spirit. To consume you with His Holy Spirit. To overtake you.

For me and the congregation, Seattle Open Door Church, I currently pastor, our Jerusalem is Burien. Our Judea and Samaria is Seattle, King County, and the Puget Sound. Just one way to reach our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria is through Tents for Jesus.

So what is your Jerusalem?  Ask God to baptize you with His Holy Spirit and to give you power to be Christ Followers who go into their Jerusalem and Make a Difference!
