A Very Close Call

Dear Readers,

Usually my stories are about my own life’s experiences.  Today I would like to share my younger brother’s testimony…

A VERY CLOSE CALL (Professor B’s Testimony)  Journal Entry, April, 2006

"Within hours of my 60th birthday, I believed life was all over for me!  Traveling down the infamous Rt. 20, at 60 MPH, a driver headed in the opposite direction, decided to careen out of control just before reaching my Camry!  But, what that driver didn’t know, was that my car is always surrounded with angels, every day of my life!  I yanked my car quickly to the right to avoid him!"

"The vehicle directly behind me wasn’t so fortunate.  As I watched in horror out my rear view mirror, the fool coming at me, collided with the SUV traveling directly behind my car, head on, at an unbelievable speed, and also hit several other vehicles!"

"Route 20 is well known for having four narrow lanes, with no protective divider, or Jersey barrier down the middle.  Many people have told me, ‘Never, ever, take a left turn coming onto Rt. 20!  It’s too dangerous!’  At 60 MPH going in both directions, there is only a couple feet between speeding automobiles!"

"I know everyone has experienced a similar situation at some time in their lives, but this collision was the closest that I have ever come to death!  I have never had a major illness in my life!  I can’t remember coming this close to dying for any reason, ever!"

"All of a sudden, none of my worries seemed important; none of my debts or bills seemed worth any anxiety.  I can’t say my whole life flashed before my eyes, like some people do, but I did go home and do a lot of deep thinking that night; a lot of soul searching.  I have been thinking about writing my life story for quite a while!  Maybe the Lord was trying to tell me, now would be a good time to do it!"

                                 Love in Christ,  Claire  xoxo

P.S.  My brother also told me, "The man in the SUV was killed instantly!"

Jer. 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  (NIV)
