The Evil Encounter

Dear Readers,

This short entry from my journal of 2003 is extremely difficult to share.  But if you believe that the Holy Spirit is alive and well on the earth today, you must also believe that evil spirits are alive and well on the earth today.  I hesitate to share this story, even as I type it out on my blog.  But, the Push behind me is too not concern myself with what people think, but only to compose what the Holy Spirit urges me to enter…

THE EVIL ENCOUNTER-  Journal Entry- March 30, 2003

A few days ago I had an unprecedented spiritual experience.  Quite often my husband falls asleep with the "Discovery Channel" on the television.  I wake up in the night and go shut it off.

I awoke a few nights ago and as usual went to shut off the broadcast yet again, but while walking across the room, I caught a glimpse of a grotesque sight of a woman with a horrifying face and someone was sitting on top of her while she lay squirming on the floor.  I quickly switched off the TV, thinking it was abuse of some kind, but my body rapidly filled with a deep inner fear, and also an unparalleled feeling in the center of my chest, almost like someone was turning a corkscrew into my body.  It was immediately painful and deep.

Trembling, I jumped back in bed, but the churning in my chest continued to tighten painfully and agonizingly deeper and deeper.  Because it was so torturous, I decided to turn the television back on so I could see exactly what in the world was going on.  In a few short minutes I observed "Satanic Exorcisms" being performed on demonically possessed people; their eyes rolling back in their heads, vomiting, vulgarity, deformed faces and bodies twitching in agony.  I turned off the TV again and continued to tremble fiercely while the corkscrew feeling deepened in my chest.  After a couple more minutes of gnawing and shivering, I began to wonder if I caught something demonic off that program.

Suddenly, I felt superhuman boldness fill my soul, and I began to pray with mighty conviction, "I don’t have to deal with this!  In the name of Jesus, get out of me and go outside my home to a dry place and stay there!"  Then I kept repeating over and over, "In the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus…"

For about five minutes in time and many "In the name of Jesus" prayers, I felt as if someone was dragging or twisting, or unwinding the center of my rib cage.  The depth felt less and less and less as I prayed, until the chest pain completely stopped.  And, when it did, instantly my trembling disappeared also.  I covered my home with the blood of Jesus, and surrounded it with angels, and then I peacefully dozed back to sleep.

The whole incident lasted about 15 or 20 minutes and left me in a deep restful sleep for the rest of the night.  In the morning I couldn’t stop thinking about it.  I shared it with only a few people; my pastor, my sister, CJ, and my daughter.  Then I decided it was so profound I should write it down.

I wonder still if we can get demons off the television.  I know many preachers believe we can, but I’ve never experienced anything quite so overpowering and instantly evil.

                                Love in Christ,  Claire xoxo

The “Blessing”

Dear Readers,

This is a simple story of faith that recently happened to my family…

THE BLESSING-  Journal Entry, March 1, 2014

"They found her!"  Another answer to prayer.  But let me start at the beginning…

About 10 days ago my granddaughter lost her beloved pet that her father purchased as a gift for her 12th birthday just last November.  For years now, she has been begging him for a pet of her own.  But living in a third floor apartment, he did not want to deal with an animal.  He finally gave in and surprised her with this sweet baby whom she promptly named, "Blessing!"

She immediately fell in love with the animal and cared for her daily.  Then one day she got loose and disappeared.  The family searched and searched to no avail.  After a few days they assumed she must be dead.  Someone probably left the cover ajar on her cage.

My son has great faith and trust in God.  He told me, "Mom, after 20 years of being a salesman, I have to depend on the Lord daily for my income!"  His daughter has been crying continuously and begging her father to get her another pet.  So, through her tears he told his twelve year old, "Let’s pray together that we find her.  Let’s just keep praying for now!"  Every night they faithfully ask Jesus to help them locate the pet, and while the rest of us are fretting, my son waits patiently.  He prays and waits, and prays and waits some more.  It amazes me how much the Lord answers his prayers as he tells me, "Mom, I can’t afford to do anything but wait!"

Since her precious "Blessing" is nocturnal by nature, she sleeps by day and only moves around at night.  After 10 days of being gone, most of us had given up ever seeing her again, but at 3 A.M. this morning, March 1, 2014, they were awakened with loud noises coming from the bathroom that sounded like a burgler had broken in.  Shampoo and conditioner were being knocked into the bathtub sounding like someone was searching the apartment.  Her frightened mother jumped out of bed panicky only to surprisingly find little "Blessing" in the tub.

And so another answer to my oldest child’s endless requests to the Lord, gets put on his list forever.  What a wonderful witness to my sweet grandchild.  My son’s faith astounds me, and I continue to be amazed, ever since he accepted Jesus Christ at 11 years old.

                                   Love in Christ,  Claire  xoxo

P.S.  Did I mention that "Blessing" is a beautiful baby Ball Python?

James 1:4, "Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." (NIV)

Ph.4:6+7, " Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."  (NKJV)
