Revelation 3:20

"Look!  I stand at the door and knock.  IF YOU HEAR ME CALLING…and open the door, I will come in and we will share a meal as friends." (NLT)

Early in my re-commitment to Christ, I woke up one morning with an impression of Revelation 3:20 in my mind.  I had no idea what the scripture was until I looked it up.  I was ECSTATIC to find the above words written in red.

The Lord spoke to my heart and said, "I have come in and eaten with you, as my friend."

Oh my, what a joy!  Those words have exhilarated and energized me for the past nine years!  Since then, I’ve discovered other scriptures that describe who, and what it means, to be called a friend of God.

FAST THE PAST

Isaiah 43:19 says, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

As I woke up this morning, the Lord spoke the following word to me regarding a certain brother.  I knew immediately it could be for any of us:

“FAST THE PAST!  Seek Me for the new things.*  I have a new method, a new strategy and a new style for this season, and this people.  Ask Me for the wisdom to move in and around the enemy’s snares.  I say again, FAST THE PAST!  Your mind will be renewed and refreshed; ready to receive of Me.”

Wait Upon The Lord

Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait  upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as  eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

I want to spend some time on the  word “wait”.  I have heard it preached many times that we are to  be patient and wait on God for results.  Numbers 8:24 says,  “This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years  old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.”  Here it means to “serve” and “tend to”.  I know this isn’t a new concept, but one that the Holy Spirit laid on my heart to examine and provoke thought to.
